Freshways

OUR story

We had an ambition to make lunchtime special!

Irish people love sandwiches. At Freshways we love them too. In 2013, there was a growing appetite for healthier, higher quality lunchtime offerings. With Freshways, previously owned by Kerry Group, myself and my co-founder Garrett Fitzgerald saw that choices were limited, and we wanted to serve this evolving Irish market.

We knew we had a bit of a sandwich mountain to climb. However, our entrepreneurial spirit, great product and brilliant team, coupled with a truckload of determination, saw us become Ireland’s leading Food-to-Go supplier. We are proud to supply over 1,300 customers across retail, specialist food service and travel.

Our story continues to evolve. In 2022 Garrett departed Freshways for pastures new, and we welcomed our new partner Samworth Brothers, a British, family-owned, premium food producer.

Together we look forward to building future success for our people, our customers and our suppliers – and of course, making great sandwiches!

giving back

We’re proud to be a part of the communities we serve!

Being part of and supporting our local community is important to us. Around 85% of the more than 400 strong Freshways team come from the Dublin areas around our Poppintree headquarters.

Some of the organisations we support include the Better Ballymun initiative, PACE Social Enterprise and INSPIRED Friends of the Culinary Arts. We’re always looking for fresh ways to give back.
